Continuums

Art Show, Painting, Photography
Continuums features the works of Marco Logsdon, painter and Michael Wayne, photographer. Both artists work within their respective mediums to create the idea of sequence in any given piece. Each creates a continuum in time and form. Logsdon’s abstract works use color, geometric patterns, and joined shapes where one form moves into the other. His alternative mediums of oil, tar, resin, and encaustic give each piece a rich visual surface. Wayne seeks to capture mundane fleeting moments with his camera. He normally focuses on passing landscapes while driving, but this series comes from riding the subway during a recent trip to New York City. Mesmerized by the passing scenes beneath the city surface, dark shapes are momentarily illuminated as trains train speeds by. This sequence of events is captured and printed on metal panels. Artist Reception, September 21st 5-8PM

Interludes-Paintings and Drawings by C Bannock, ML Dean, KR Johnson, P McNeese

Art Show, Drawings/Works on Paper, Painting
“Interludes” Painting and Drawings by Chris Brannock. Mary Louise Dean, Kathy Rees Johnson and Patrick McNeese Exhibit on view: October 9th – November 16th Artist Closing Reception, November 16th with Gallery Hop A range of media and supports are on display in these creations at the intersection of art and music. Each artist allows music to influence the form, textures and color in their paintings but their diverse affinities for music makes an intriguing mix. Chris Brannock’s drawings are little meditations on Danish folk tunes. Abstract painter, Mary Louise Dean challenged herself to spontaneously experience on canvas her favorite classical music. Kathy Rees Johnson allowed the music to “unearth” the landscape while singer-songwriter, Patrick McNeese, reflects the musical narrative in his expressionistic paintings.
