Jessamine County Public Library Meet the Artist: Peggy Bishop

Art Talk
The work of Peggy Bishop will be on display in the JCPL gallery from January 16 through February 28. Come enjoy light refreshments and talk to Peggy about her work. Peggy Lynn Bishop was raised in Dayton, Ohio, and credits her artist-mother, Marilyn Bishop, for encouraging and nurturing her artistic talents at a young age. With an uncanny ability to depict perspective naturally, her first commission was an acrylic seascape at fifteen. All through her educational studies and career as a chemist, microbiologist, cancer researcher and computer programmer, Peggy pursued her true passion as an artist and refined her talents in the watercolor medium. Throughout her travels in the United States, Canada and abroad, she captures the objects of her experiences and imagination and brings them to life in her medium. Her major influences have been the South Carolina Lowlands where her family spend their vacations, and the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.
