As I read Mr Sydner's review I can't help but notice his lack of local KY cuisine history.
For decades the KY River Hot Brown has been made with a cream sauce covered with melted cheddar cheese topped with sliced tomato & a couple stripes of bacon. Hall's,The Brown Proctor,Johnny Allman's many KY riverfront resturants have followed this tradition.
The original Hot Brown at Louisville's Brown Hotel (1923) called for a cold Brown sandwich, an open-faced layering of rye bread, baked chicken or turkey ,lettuce, tomato, and hard-boiled egg, topped with thousand island dressing,as you may notice it is rarely served in this form any more.
So please Mr.Sydner educate yourself before writing on local cuisine in the future.
