The 150-seat Thoroughbred Theatre is lively and intimate, and it is the venue of choice for local talent and visiting artists. The facility is also available for public use for presentations, benefits, meetings, gatherings, and more.
The Thoroughbred Theatre is part of a 6,000 square foot complex which also houses Quirk Café and a bookstore. We have complete in-house catering capability for your convinience, or you can choose to use an outside caterer.
Incorporated into the design of the Thoroughbred Theater are numerous historic elements from the areas most famous horse farms and equine attractions, including; railings from Churchill Downs, barn doors from historic Faraway farm- home of War Admiral and Man O’ War, stall doors and slate roofing from historic Hamburg Place, the ballroom doors from fabulous Hopewell farm, and Beech wood from old Nantura Farm. Beautiful original limestone walls border the bookstore downstairs, while diners can enjoy lunch, coffee and dessert under the authentic tin ceiling or on the open-air patio at Quirk café.
Completely renovated from top to bottom in 2004, the Thoroughbred Theater is an ideal place to host special events, music, theater, movies, receptions, and training events.
