I went to rehearsals for all three shows last Sunday, and wrote a preview for the July 2 issue of Ace Weekly.
The first show is Henry IV, Part I, directed by Joe Ferrell. It opens this Wednesday. Walter Tunis performs Falstaff magnificently and the rest of the cast are all spot on in their interpretations of Shakespeare's characters. Trent Fucci will be the scene stealer here; as Henry V, he's just too fun NOT to watch!
The second show opening on 7/15 is Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Bob Singleton's Dr. Jekyll is commanding, and there are four (count 'em 4!) Hydes in this version of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson tale. Here's the great part about all that: one of the Hyde incarnations is a female! Look for Susan Wigglesworth to steal the show.
Once On This Island (opens 7/22) is a magical musical, a combination of The Little Mermaid and Romeo & Juliet. The cast is splended under Margo Buchanan's meticulous direction. Stealing the show will be Manuel Castillo as Armand!
