Our family cannot say enough about Thai Orchid Cafe. We travel quite a bit and have eaten at many restaurants all over the country. We have never found a better Thai restaurant that what we have right here in Lexington, Kentucky. We usually can't wait to get back from a trip to stop by. We all have our favorite dishes, but love to try everything on the menu. The spring rolls are incredible and once you taste them you won't be able to get them off your mind. We also highly recommend the Three Flavored Chicken...YUM!! Our 7 year old would tell you that you should try the Egg Drop Soup. Besides the food being wonderful, the family who runs this restaurant is first class. Kat will remember you and your order after only one or two visits. He is amazing, and so is the restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Thai Orchid is a wonderful addition to the ethnic restaurant scene in Lexington. They serve some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten and have enough variety that even the hesitant eater can find something to love. The service is personal and great - go once or twice and Kat will greet you by name when you return. The ambience is great, with soft purple paint with black accents and pictures of orchids. While service and ambience are great, the star of this restaurant is the food. Try the Tom Kah Gai soup, the lettuce wraps or the golden pockets for appetizers. For entrees, the basil chili chicken is divine, the pineapple tangerine chicken is wonderful and safe for the first timer, the pad see yiu is sweet and dark, and the chili chicken (not on the menu, but worth asking about) is a great mixture of flavors. Hurry over to Thai Orchid, but leave a place for me!

Thai Orchid's name communicates a theme: walls in muted shades of rose and violet, close-up nature photos of everything Orchidaceae and a fresh and clean version of a cuisine both delicate and hearty.
