 May 8, 2009 - Lexington Herald-Leader - By Candace Chaney

While the Central Kentucky theater community might be too small to produce bona fide "stars" a la Broadway, it is likely even the most casual local theatergoer has stumbled upon a performance or two of Ryan Case or Adam Luckey, two of the region's most celebrated, and consistently working, actors. Some Things You Need to Know (Illumitati)

Five years ago I saw this play performed by the same actors. Since then Adam Luckey as Rev. Eddie and Ryan Case as Bro. Lawrence have added polish and depth to their performance, but they have retained the energy and inventiveness of the original. And, if anything, the balance and flow between Rev. Eddie's angst and madness and Bro. Lawrence's deflating humor and naive sense of reality are even more effective, resolving in the touching epitaph at the end. The production also benefits from the new stage at Natasha's, allowing for more movement and better visibility. It should be noted that the author does pointedly skewer some concepts of organized religion, but the play is not irreligious. Think of it as approaching religious faith from a different perspective. This is definitely one of the theatrical highlights of the season, so don't miss it.

Illuminati Makes for a fun filled evening

Balagula Theatre does not disappoint with their latest thought provoking comedy starring Ryan Case & Adam Luckey. For those that are fans of this incredible acting duo, Illuminati is a must see. They are, indeed, Lexington's very own Illuminati. Just be sure to bring some spare change for the offering plate.
