Willie Rascoe: The Core of Nature’s Beauty, Art of an African American Folk Artist

Monday, Aug 20, 2012 7:00p

The LASC is pleased to present a new exhibition of guest artist, Willie Rascoe, as well as a workshop with the artist to learn about his process & to create your own artwork with natural materials. Rascoe’s highly evolved forms are inspired by African imagery & evoke a spiritual quality that blends wood, seeds, bones, shells & other natural materials. Presented as part of the Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival, an opening reception with the artist will be Friday, Sept 7, 5-8pm at the LASC.
