The Bluegrass Opera: A Tree On The Plains

Saturday, Aug 25, 2012 7:30p

In 1943, it inspired the producers of the classic musical "Oklahoma!" Now, the Bluegrass Opera presents the first ever professional run of Pulitzer Prize winner Ernst Bacon's long-lost musical "A Tree on the Plains" (book and lyrics by 2-time Pulitzer winner Paul Horgan). It's set in the American west, and this performance takes place on the 150th anniversary of the U.S. Homestead Act (1862), which led to the settlement of many of the western states. Join us for an evening you won't soon forget!
