The evening performance begins at 8pm and includes a demonstration in classical ballet, process in making of a dancer, partnering techniques, audience participation and excerpts from both the Lexington Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble reportoires. Prior to his five years as Artistic Director at the Lexington Ballet, Luis Dominguez, spent 20 years touring internationally as a principal dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and believes strongly in the original vision of Karel Shook and Arthur Mitchell; using the arts to break through racial and social barriers. Our organization presents this collaboration to honor Luis, his work and support the conviction that artists are mirrors of our society, who serve as connectors of people with diverse interests and backgrounds to better the whole of a community.
