Paragon Music Theatre will produce its most ambitious project in its five year history: a 50th Anniversary Presentation of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.
Paragon Music Theatre, Lexington’s own music theatre production company, is pleased to announce its most ambitious project in its five year history: a 50th Anniversary Presentation of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.
Performances will be held at the Lexington Opera House, April 17, 18, 19 at 8 PM and April 20 at 3 PM. Tickets can be purchased by calling (859) 233-3535 or 233-3565 or through any ticketmaster location. $25 Adults, $20 Senior Citizens and Groups, $15 Students, and $10 Children. Truly, a family event you will not want to miss!
The Music Man will feature some of Central Kentucky’s best talent on stage and includes the largest Paragon cast in its history. In addition, the “School Board Barbershop Quartet” will entertain audiences with pre-show singing on opening night to set the 1912 ambience. A live stage band joins Paragon’s own elite pit orchestra comprised of some of Kentucky’s finest instrumentalists. It is truly a musical extravaganza.
Alberta Labrillazo is making her directorial debut with Paragon in this production and will be assisted by choreographer Diana Evans Pulliam and music director Ryan Shirar. Together, they are creating a production which not only honors the tradition and history of this American icon, but breathes fresh new energy into it for new audiences. These directors are creating dramatic innovations in the world of musical theatre which they hope will continue to spread to future productions both in Lexington and beyond. Come and be a part of history!
Fifty years ago, The Music Man swept the Tony Awards, even beating out the unforgettable West Side Story. Join Paragon in recognizing what makes this show such an enduring American classic. Please visit www.paragonmusictheatre.org for more information.

Iowa has been good for Paragon Music Theatre. Four years ago, the company went there for its debut production, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's State Fair. It was a stunningly good production for Paragon, especially considering it was its first show. This spring, the company is back in the Hawkeye State for Meredith Willson's The Music Man.
