Dance Celebration presented by Bluegrass Youth Ballet

Celebrate BYB's 5th anniversary! Ballet performance features excerpts from Coppelia, Giselle, Le Corsaire, and BYB's own Vivaldi Four Seasons.

Dance Celebration might seem like a typical ballet performance, with classical works such as the Mazurka from Coppelia, the Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle, and Le Jardin Anime from Le Corsaire on the bill. However, with a large cast of middle and high school aged pre-professional dancers, dancing classical ballets that are usually left to experienced professionals, this performance is quite atypical. A high level of technical proficiency and accomplishment is required from dancers for a polished performance of these works. One of BYB’s senior dancers will share the stage with Louisville Ballet Soloist Keith Glenn. Bluegrass Youth Ballet has waited until its fifth year to bring these timeless ballet classics to the stage, and is highly confident that the upcoming performance will be superb.
