Norton Center for the Arts Newlin Hall

Known for its superb acoustics, Newlin Hall is recognized as one of America's finest concert halls. Each season the signature Newlin Hall Series features an extraordinary variety of world-class performances. The Norton Center's reputation as "Kentucky's Home to the Stars" has been earned through Newlin Hall appearances by classical artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Kathleen Battle; great orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, and the Boston Pops; top Broadway shows such as CATS, STOMP, and Rent; and popular stars such as Willie Nelson, Doc Severinsen, and Wynton Marsalis.

Newlin Hall also provides the ideal setting for events such as the nationally televised Vice-Presidential Debate between Dick Cheney and Joseph Lieberman in October of 2000. Recent speakers in Newlin Hall have included former President Jimmy Carter, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, actor James Earl Jones, and poet Maya Angelou.
